R.I.P. A.L.P.

I'm just gonna come out and say it: Alien Loves Predator is coming to an end. This may seem sudden, since I recently just "came back", or you may've seen it coming from a mile away. Either way I need to move on for a whole bunch of reasons, not the least of which is I gotta stop breaking promises to ya. BUT...

... I'm planning on starting a new comic, one that hopefully won't be so frickin stressful for me to keep up (yeah, believe it or not aLp was hard work), and all of you'll wanna stick around for it cuz 1) I'm writing it, and 2) Abe and Preston may make cameos in some form or another.

I'll probably write up a more proper farewell post to aLp eventually, but for now, it's more STAY TUNED until next week when I debut the new series right here. This site'll keep humming along, and I'll use the same forums so keep chatting away, and now it's an imperative you subscribe to the mailing list, RSS, or LJ so you don't miss the new series. To those of you who won't be sticking around, thanks a ton for reading.

I will miss Abe & Preston terribly- they gave me several years' worth of freaky-ass love, and I'll always be grateful to you for that. Grateful and scarred.

You do what you need to do, and I look forward to joining you on your new adventure!

Well, okay, I guess. *sniff* I'll look forward to the new series, but I will sorely miss Abe and Preston. Please let Abe finally score (send him off with a bang - no pun intended!), and get Preston a shiny new book to read. I know, I know...it's a happy ending, but hey...what can I say?

Thanks for all the laughs, man. Thanks to your wife and kids for sharing your time with us! And thanks to Abe and Preston for being such good sports.

Evolving is tough. Realizing that it's OK to evolve is tough. Being accepted for your evolution is rewarding.

Nooooo! :( I'll miss good old ALP - it was one of my favorites. But I'm still looking forward to whatever you decided to do next! Best of luck in everything!

I will miss the comic dearly, but thanks for all the great laughs, and for all your effort in bringing Abe & Preston to us.

alp was one of the few webcomics out there that was both conceptually creative and funny, and i was always glad to turn someone on to it.

your sense of humour and personality really shone through the comic with an ease and naturalness that many (successful!) web comic artists struggle with.

as a reader, i'm sorry you can't make it work anymore, but as a father and a worker, i also understand that's just how it goes sometimes. just thought i'd let you know that you did it right. good luck and we'll see you soon.

I'm definitely sad to see the comic end, but I'd be lying if I said I didn't see it coming. I hope one day you find the motivation to throw together just one more (short) arc to wrap it up. Either way, I'll definitely be tuning in to your new work. Thanks for the laughs!
